Equity and Merit Scholarships for Masters study
The 2011/12 Equity and Merit Scholarship Programme is offering up to seven scholarships for candidates from Uganda and Rwanda to study postgraduate taught Masters at The University of Manchester. The deadline for applications is 29 April 2011.
Entry requirements
General requirements for undergraduate courses
Entry requirements will vary from course to course and will be based upon the standard UK requirements.
General requirements for postgraduate/research courses
The award of a Bachelors degree with good grades from a recognised institution is acceptable for application to Masters programmes.
A Masters and Bachelors degree from a recognised university are usually required for PhD entry.
English language requirements
You will need to be able to demonstrate competency in the English language and students who do not already possess a recognised English language qualification will need to take a test such as IELTS or TOEFL. English language requirements vary by course but in most cases you will need a minimum of IELTS 6.5 (with no sub test less than 5.5) or TOEFL 570 (90 IBT). Other English language qualifications and tests can be considered, including those offered by the University Language Centre.
Other entry requirements
Please note that this is generic information only. Faculties and Schools have different entry requirements and some qualifications may not be acceptable for certain courses, so it is important to check with the School directly before you apply.
Some courses have additional entry requirements such as previous work experience, submission of written work with the application or previous study of a particular subject.
